TEAM Us

The last 25 years of my life seem to have revolved around finding funds to do good work and I realise I’m not alone in that. Every NGO, hospital, school, church, business, family and individual has the pressure of finance at some point and in some area of their life.

The biggest pressure that I felt leaving Cambodia, due to COVID-19, was how I could find a way to keep the funding in the bank that was needed for Flame Cambodia to continue doing great work. In the years that Flame has been operating, we have never missed a payroll or been unable to pay our bills.

Never.

Not once.

Even though we have been down to our last few hundred dollars in the bank, God has never failed to provide. So, … why, oh why, was I stressing about funding?

I was about to be invited to join TEAM Us. Matthew 3 has a line in it where Jesus met up with John the Baptist that hit me between the eyes … “permit it at this time, for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”  US… US… Jesus & John together … US.  I was so surprised when I read that, to see how Jesus sought out John the Baptist for this moment. Jesus was proactive about this, it was a deliberate, intentional scenario that Jesus fully meant to happen, and He did it so that he and John could work together in Team Us.

Jesus was saying the same thing to me, “its Us, Sue, TEAM Us” You are worried about things that I wish you wouldn’t be concerned about. I’m inviting you into a partnership with me, will you join TEAM Us and together we will keep the bank account full enough to do the great work Flame is doing.

And, … by the way … He’s the best partner, ever!
