Transition Time

Founding an organisation is an incredible honour. To see the burning idea in my heart becoming a real live organization that lives out that vision is one of the greatest joys of my life. Alongside that is the joy of handing it over to Khmer leadership and realizing how privileged I am to be able to do that with total confidence in the new leader and know that the vision is safe and in good hands.

I have read numerous articles about the struggles that founders face in transitioning out of the key leadership role and handing over to the next leader who will take the company or organization forward. I read that most founders struggle to hand over their ‘baby’ to a new leader but this has not been the case for myself and Flame Cambodia for a couple of reasons.

1.     Flame is not my ‘baby’. It is founded on inspiration from a God idea and I am 100% happy and very aware that Flame is bigger than me and it’s not about me. Never has been, never will be.

2.     Flame Cambodia’s new leader, Nou Vandeth, is a very capable, wise and compassionate man. We are very fortunate to have him and the leadership transition was a privilege, not a struggle.

What a privilege. What an honour. Watch this space
