Underwhelm to Overwhelm

A short quote that is on my office wall has been my focus for 2019. 

If I really want an unrushed life

I must underwhelm my schedule

so God has room to overwhelm my soul

Going from a packed schedule to an underwhelmed one has taken me on an unexpected journey into my identity. When we are defined by what we do, the internal places in us can become quite malnourished, and therefore – weak. 

It takes a strong identity to be able to put aside our overdone actions to focus on our internal space.

I want an overwhelmed soul. I know that my life will be rich and meaningful and effective when my soul is overwhelmed and overflowing.
